Layering - Fantasy Fire + Mood Polish

First off, have you gotten a chance to help my fundraiser, Puyallup Food Bank Peanut Butter Drive?
You purchase some Scentsy from my site and my profits go toward purchasing MUCH NEEDED peanut butter for my local food bank. Please help out, even if its just a simple car freshener! But we also have new laundry and body products too! Also, please please pass this info along. But it only works if ordered directly from my website under the party PUYALLUP FOOD BANK PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Now onto the manicure. I went with my Claire's color changing dark blue to light blue then layered Fantasy Fire over the top. Holy moly FF just never disappoints! And the color changing polish just add another level of awesomeness to this!

Pic heavy as I tried to get different angles and lighting to show the full effect.

Tips - Classic Purple

I was in a rush with little time to do my nails.
But I got my new avon order in and had to show off this new purple.
*swoons*
So I whipped out my French Tip Dip and came out with these cute tips!
(please excuse the bubbled top coat--we were running a little thick that night!)

Color is Avon Perplexed Purple.

Taped - Triangle Bows

This came out extremely icky but I loved the colors.
For some reason, I was just having major tape issues this round.
Oh well!

Purple is a Petites and Pink is a Color Club metallic.
Wish I could remember but the polish is lost back in my Helmer :-p

Taped - My first taped mani! Zig Zags

Thanks to the lovely Chloe's Nails, Ive had this idea waiting for a while.
Ive been reluctant to try tape but got ballzy the other night.
Turned out totally awesome! I love the colors I chose.
But after close inspection, I realized that I messed the zags up!
I followed her tutorial but apparently I got way ahead of myself, thinking, "Oh easy! I got this!"

Yea well, needless to say, I ended up with the shimmer color all in the middle sections with the purple and black alternating the tips and beds. But ya know what, I bet you wouldnt have noticed if I hadnt pointed it out, right?
Im always my own worst critic!
But I did say I still loved how it turned out so Im not totally bad :-p

My base purple is ORLY Purple Velvet, shimmer is Borghese Stellar Notte (thanks Jess for the heads up to try it again!) and black is my favorite Wet N Wild Black (such thick coverage for only $.99, can't beat that!)

Tips - Pinkle Sparkle (not quite glitter)

Because I already had a Pinkle Glitter manicure, I didn't know what to name this one so I went with Pinkle Sparkle. More sparkly than glittery. Inspired by Chloe (still one of my favorite manicurists).
I didn't have a shade quite as awesome as hers (odd being that I could walk up to the store and grab that SH now) but I figured with how many polishes I already have, just use one close (as I LOVED her color combo).

So I went with Color Club OH MY GOSH ITS NAMELESS!
(yup, so nameless. If you  know the name, please let me know!)
Then added OPI Sparkl-icious (see, the title even says sparkle)
Then went with a tip of the same nameless Color Club with my French Tip Dip.

Avon Springtime Tips

Well after I saw the new Avon Spring colors I had to buy them.
I opted out of the pink as I have lots of pinks already and don't wear those often.
(Right, like I dont have enough of every color!)

So after applying them, I decided that darker tips on them would look cool.
So I sifted through my stash and pick some darker shades and this is what we have.

Heart Tugger - RIP Susan, Braden and Charlie Cox Powell

So I'm sure many of you have heard the new story the past few weeks (if not the past few years) of Susan Cox Powell. She went missing from her Utah home in December of 2009. Her husband was suspected in her disappearance but was never charged. ONE MONTH after she disappeared, he moved with their 2 young children to WA. The whole story has been fishy. 3 years later, Susan's body has still not been found but she is believed to be dead.

Sadly, one week ago Sunday, this horrible father did the unspeakable. He had lost custody of his children to Susan's parents. He was also required to undergo a Phyco-sexual evaluation yet was granted visitations rights with the children. An older case worker was dropping the kids off to see their father Sunday when Josh, the father grabbed them and slammed the door in the case workers face. She immediately called 9-1-1 where the dispatcher didn't realize how bad the situation was. Caseworker tells him she hears crying and can smell gas. Minutes later, the house explodes with Josh and the two innocent young children inside.

News later tells us that Josh attacked the children with a hatchet before the house exploded. Josh and the two boys died in that fire. Along with the boys deaths, Josh also took the truth behind Susan's death with him to hell.

This is such a tragic story that I can't begin to even imagine what the grandparents are going through. First, to have their daughter missing for 3 years, assuming her dead then to have her children murdered just last week. The explosion happened just a mile from my home and I went to high school with Susan. This story has toughed my heart so heart that I still cry over it.

We attended a community bake sale for Susan's parents a few nights ago. They wanted to help raise money for the funeral to support Susan's parents during this horrible time. The local fire department that responded to the explosion held it at their facility. In only 3 hours this fundraiser raised over $15 thousand dollars and even sold out an hour early! What a blessing for this family during such a tragedy.

So I ask that you hug and kiss your children right now. And remember that no mater what, its not that bad. Always cherish every moment you have because you never know when it might be your last.

So in respects to Susan (may her body be found so the parents can finally have total closure) and her two boys 5 & 7 yrs, Charlie and Braden (may their sweet souls rest in peace in heaven with God and in their Mothers arms where they belong) I have done a nail manicure.

Ribbons in purple, Susan's favorite color. (Purple ribbons also line street lamps and trees and fences all over this community right now)
Then an accent nail of roses for her.
*May you and your sweet boys rest in peace *

Purple, purple and more purple + Tutorial

Yea, its purple manicure time. I did these 2 nights ago and they're still chip free. Hence why I didnt post a new mani last night. Check out these purdy mamas with tutorial to follow.

For this manicure, grab a light base color.

Then add a sparkly tip in a darker but same color glitter.
I chose Color Club Tru Passion.

Then with an even darker shade in the same color, draw a stripe across the bottom of your glitter edge.
I chose Love & Beauty Dark Purple.

Then with that same darkest color, draw 45 degree angled stripes. I did 2 on each finger except for my middle finger as that is the accent nail.

Then take a silver glitter and go between your dark stripes. I also added a stripe below the purple one on the accent nail.
Here i chose Kiss nail art paint in silver.

Then I added a light purple fimo bow on the accent nail along with a clear rhinestone on its center.
Then a light purple and clear rhinestone on every other nail.
Chose two color rhinestones that match what colors you chose.

Top coat and you're done!

Doesn't this look like it belongs in a glue on box in the stores? I LOVE it!

Foils - RM Inspired Tips

Once I saw this post by Robin Moses, I knew I had to try it.
I instantly went onto dollarnailart and bought a bunch.
The haul came in yesterday and OMG = heaven!
 (haul post coming soon).

These foils are just amazing. I wish I had bought more.

Anyway, I started with Finger Paints Asylum just to give my stained nail some bling lol.
Then I randomly and not perfectly on purpose, painted a black tip. Letting that dry, I randomly swipped the foil glue and let that dry about 2 minutes then added 3 different foil colors in Blue Fuchsia and purple. I also added black dots for a pretty accent.

Seriously, you must check out this site! Too bad my camera isnt better to catch the awesomeness of these colors!

Tips - Glitter Pinkle

A day behind, dang it! I was busy sorting through nail polish to get my sale going. Phew!
You'll be seeing a post soon about my sale/swap, so keep your eyes peeled! LOTS of goodies!
Even kitty helped :-)

Now onto the tips. I have a whole file folder full of styles I want to try but the past few nights I've been so busy that I've needed to find more simpler ones so I'm not up so late. I still didn't get last nights mani posted then or today. So this is last nights. Tonight mani you'll get tomorrow.

Now how awesome is my Pinkle name! Best describes this color!
Wet N Wild baby!

Mustn't forget the hand painted flowers with teal rhinestones :-)
