Keep Him Running

Thanks to my sweety Jess, I have now doubled my polish collection! I was finally able to get my hands on some Holographic polish last night! WOOT! So with a Scentsy party tomorrow, I snagged China Glaze's He's Going In Circles.

My bathroom light is one of those energy bulbs that is "natural" light.
This is with no flash.

No flash under a normal bulb.

Normal bulb with flash.
Almost looks silver here but its actually a light green.

Bathroom light with flash.

I tried using a black basecoat but the first coat of this rubbed the black off. So this is 3 thick layers of just the China Glaze with a top coat. After the first coat, it applied nicely. Surely not good for layering on another polish though.

You Saw Me Standing Alone

Last nights Grape Juice wasn't my favorite after a fresh chip this morning. Maybe it's my top coat that is failing me. So here is another go with a new polish. Rite Aid was having a nice sale on all their polishes. There are no nice close places that carry the good polish around here so I resort to these chain stores. It's satisfying me for now ;-)

Tonights choice, Jesse's Girl in Blue Moon. The first layer went on as almost purple and very thin. The second layer started pulling the 1st layer off, leaving a very uneven look. I didnt scrape the brush with the 3rd layer to get a big dab of polish this time and it kind of worked. As my first impression of this polish, I'm unimpressed. The color looks nice in the jar but on, its just another purple/blue polish with horrible application.

It was nothing special until I added my favorite top coat!

I just cant get enough of it! Its a lifesaver than can turn any horrid polish into bliss!

Grayp Joose!

The polishes I have been picking these last couple days have just been horrible. The crackle chipped away so fast, even with a top coat on! So Last night I applied China Glaze Grape Juice. Very thin polish. It took 3 coats to get a decent coverage.

But the end result was very pretty. Almost too light of a color for me as Im a huge fan of darker colors but the sparkle in this one was nice. I would rate this a 3 out of 5.

I'm Cracking Up Here!

Well the Gussied Up Green didnt last at all. It chipped the next day :-(
So, after horrible chipped nails at my Scentsy events, Im home now with fresh nails.
Tonight I felt like a crackle. So I thought I picked black crackle but after pics, I see I picked blue!

My bipolar nails! I of course, had to try my holo top coat :-p

These nails are 2x coats of Borghese Raspberry Sorbetto. 1 thin coat of BK (I think thats the name of these?) blue (meant to choose black) cracking polish, 1 coat China Glaze Wireless Holographic Top coat and regular fast dry tc.

I still find the crackles to be a pain. I took the pictures before I cleaned up my lines as well. I'm ready to try and orange base and the black crackle. It will go perfect for Halloween!

Gussied for Scentsy

Yet again, my polish is geared toward 2 Scentsy events I have this weekend. Both are holiday Bazaars. Even though it's October and I really wanted to go for an orange and black, I strayed to a green. I tend to jazz up my polish so here is another bi-polar polish for you!

This is China Glaze Gussied Up Green x2 coats. Then Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Diamonds then a top coat. The CG applied great with just one coat but I always prefer 2 to be safe. The SH added just a bit more shimmer that the green didnt supply for my mood tonight. It really is gorgeous on its own but I gotta jazz it up (and not Zanarans style!).

I Feel Blue

Still on my kick of my new Avon colors and I am so impressed! Wicked (the red from my last post) went on gorgeous with just one coat. Well when I tried Avon's Blue Flame, I had the same impressive results. One coat gave amazing coverage. It has a shimmer to it so its wonderful on its own. But you know me, I had to jazz it up more with my favorite holo tc. But I didn't snag a picture of that.
2 coats, indoor with flash

Indoor, no flash.

My camera just has major issues with up close pictures and if I turn the flash off, it always blurs. Sorry guys!

Comparision : Vampy Reds

Ok Vampire Fans! I got a new red today. after looking at the bottle, I realized just how much it looked like my Rimmel Red Lava. So here is my first comparison!

Rimmel Lava Red, 2 coats. First coat looks almost brown.
This also has the wide brushes which Im still trying to get used to.

Avon's Wicked, 2 coats. The first coat covered gorgeous but I did 2 coats anyway. In most lights I used, it almost looks black. But the flash catches the red for you ;-)

The bottle view, they almost look identical. But on the nails you can clearly see that Wicked is much darker.

These are all WITHOUT top coats. They still had a nice shine to them!

Had to tease you with a top coat of China Glaze Wireless Holographic Top Coat. Its my favorite!

And because this has put me in a vampire mood, Im gonna share a series of vampire books for you readers out there. These are adult books and very yummy! You must check them out!

*Meagan Hatfield (author)
*Lynsay Sands - Argeneau Series
*Alexandra Ivy - Guardians of Eternity series
*Jeaniene Frost - Night huntress World Series
*Kresley Cole - Immortals After Dark Series
*Kathryn Smith - Brotherhood of the Blood Series

And some young adult series:
*Richelle Mead - Vampire Academy Series
*PC Cast
*Twilight Series (OF COURSE!) (and The Host)
*LJ Smith - Vampire Diaries Series

Yes, Ive read ALL of these books. Some series have over 10 books in each. But they get so addicting!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

My Nana passed away 8 years ago from lung cancer. A few years before, she had breast cancer and had to have one of her breasts removed. I still consider her a Breast Cancer Survivor. A good friend of my parents is a strong survivor as well! Last month Scentsy came out with there foundation warmer for the year and I am super excited to introduce, Love Life Hope. Proceeds from the sale of this warmer go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It is a gorgeous wax warmer and you have over 8- scents to choose from to fill your home with love. Every time you look at this warmer you can remember that special someone who was a fighter!

You can purchase... this warmer RETIRED... scents at my website.

Sexy on First Class

I decided against a stamp tonight. I ended up chosing China Glaze First Class Ticket with a ymmy Nubar 2010 coat over the top. CG x2 coats, 2010 x1 coat. It applied nicely too!

Inside with flash.

Natural light with flash.

Natural light no flash.

A rating of 4 out of 5 is due here. Again, first layer was uneven. But the ending color is such a dark purple it almost looks black in certain lights. Thats a super plus in my book. A bi-polar polish!

Feeling Green In Hawaii

Because I sell Scentsy, I do many public events. And now that Ive been introduced to nail stamping, I have to mix the two! Last night I did a Hawaiian event with hula dancing and the works! I was unable to get ahold of the super cute m29 Konad plate in time so I used what I had.
Pure Ice Free Spirit x2 coats. Pink flowers were done in Borghese Raspberry Sorbetto  and the white flowers were done in Wet N' Wild's plain white. I then added China Glaze Wireless Holographic Top Coat for a little shimmer. The green in itself has just the slightest shimmer but not enough for my taste. The color is super bright green!

I give Free Spirit a 4 out of 5. Like most, the first layer was pretty uneven but with the second coat, evened itself out. Could have used a little more shimmer that most of the Pure Ice polishes have.
